Job Description
The position of Online Adjunct Faculty provides and sustains an effective online learning environment for every student through well prepared classes, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear documentation of student progress, and support of academic success of at-risk students in accordance with CTU guidelines and philosophy. Online Adjunct Faculty support CTU’s philosophy of service to customer, both internally and externally, in a professional and timely manner that supports the achievement of the University’s goals and objectives.

Provides all necessary documentation for students.
Adheres to methods of authentic assessment that best measure student performance in the specified course outcomes.
Facilitates experiential learning in an interactive and professional environment.
Maintains and facilitates courses using techniques and methods for quality online instruction.
Suitably challenges, serves, and communicates with students to encourage their participation and learning progress.
Communicates with students, academic and technical support in a timely and professional manner to serve the mission of CTU.
Identifies and assists at-risk students while eliminating student barriers to learning.
Enables personal growth and professional development via real world application.
Supports student retention by resolving learner issues with appropriate assistance.
Maintains and honors office and chat hours with students.
Attends faculty meetings.
Participates in administrative committees, reports, or other non-teaching assignments if assigned and/or paid to do so.
Participates in professional development activities.
Maintains an up-to-date body of knowledge in the field.
Manages to all CTU policies, procedures, integrity and ethical standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Strong desire to ensure student success.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal as demonstrated by: data sheet, diplomas, degrees, transcripts, certifications, CVs/Resumes, and in personal interview).
Skills to establish and maintain effective relationships, especially in an online environment.
Techno-literacy.
Strong customer service skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
Understanding of and appreciation for the for-profit education system.
Required Experience
Master’s degree in appropriate discipline required; doctoral or other terminal degree preferred. NOTE: in rare instances, significant experience plus certification may be demonstrated in lieu of degree.
Documented expertise in academic subject area.
At least one year prior online teaching experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of online delivery methods, principles, techniques, and methods of instruction, use of visual aids, learning processes and curriculum development.
Minimum 2 – 4 years of work industry experience directly related to teaching discipline or program-related field.
Adjunct faculty member must complete/submit and update each year the following documents to support appropriate instructional qualifications:

Curriculum Vitae / Resume
All official higher education transcripts
All official required licensures and certifications to teach content areas
Individual Development Plan
Annual appraisal document
Evidence of any memberships and/or participation in professional organizations
